I'm patiently waiting for June 26th for the newest Spiderman game - I hope it actually comes out on time. I'm going to order tonight through Amazon. I heard if you pre-order you could get exclusives. Anyone already order? Buddy told me about Stan Lee - guess pre-orders get to play something like you are actually Stan Lee. Know anything about this?

I know 90% of movie based games aren't worth getting.

I forget which one, but apparently one of the games for the original Spiderman movies was actually really good. Might be worth checking out the studio.

Spider-Man 2 was a pretty good game.
It wasn't perfect, but you got to swing around New York as freakin Spider-Man!

Those are the exceptions. The captain america game was terrible, the Iron Man/Movie game was trash.

The first NES X-Men game was horrifically bad.

Seconded that Spider-Man 2 was awesome. But not for the reasons the developer wanted. I just swung around Manhattan for hours, beating up random guys and ignoring my missions, because the actual story and missions were a bit clunky, but the wide-open game world was groundbreaking for the genre. It was like blending a product-placement game with GTA.

Yes to web swinging around town in those xbox spidey games. We used to play chicken with the pavement. Find tall building, jump off, try to stick landing by webbing out such that your feet ran across the ground without incurring damage. They had pretty good physics and a pretty good presentation of acceleration. The gameplay was too repetitive, but swinging through manhattan was awesome. I still have that game somewhere...sadly they messed it up with future editions. By the time shattered dimensions or whatever came out, webswinging was not as fun.
