My outdoor cat jumped into a pan of gear oil (used) at the neighbors last night. We have given her 3 baths. The first was with cat shampoo, second with Palmolive dish soap. Those were both last night. I just finished another bath but this time I used Dawn dish soap. I can't believe how much of the oil came off with Dawn. There is more to come off (she is a white cat). What a mess.

Sounds like a mess - glad you figured out something that would somewhat work. I'm thinking the cat would have licked it off otherwise. Gear oil (used) would make a cat sick!

I am not sure what this topic is even about. Did you really share washing your cat?

Hope she doesn't get sick! I think Dawn is what they use to clean up all the penguins and seals and stuff after oil tankers or Deep Water Horizons spring a leak. A lot of the times it's the simple things that work best.
