I'm turning into a gun enthusiast. I got a Mosin Nagant 91/30 like anyone else who has no money but wants a super slick old rifle. Anyone else own a gun/like shooting? I'm mostly just preparing for the zombie apocalypse.

I do. I haven't shot in several years, but I love it. I used to have a .50 blackhawk (black powder rifle). Also got to fire an AR-15, it was nice. Low caliber I know, but the gas recoil and low caliber makes for no recoil. At semi-Auto you can keep tight grouping at a pretty significant rate of fire.

Also had a friend who owned a Garrand. It was very nice to fire, although man it had a kick.

Not a gun fan, myself. (not against them at all)
I have a bat and a left-handed 1 iron for defense of my home. And should the zombie apocalypse arise, my first order of business will be the procurement of a sword.
(because if you've got a sword, you get to be the dude that carries a sword in whichever survival party you end up with and those dudes are badass!)

With guns being illegal in this country (well almost) I'm resigned to owning only 'ornimental' swords.

That basically means swords that aren't fully sharpened.

Well bugger that, mine are razor sharp. I've got 3 rapiers, a Spanish longsword, Saxon broad sword and a claymore....

I'm the same, my "ornamental" weapons are very pointy and tend to cut holes in bags any time I move house.

I used to be pretty good at shooting, I was on the school rifle and clay-pigeon teams and used to win quite a bit. Haven’t shot anything more deadly than a paintball in nearly 10 years though.

Yeah, I would like to get into shooting but it's quite pricey here.

I do have a sword as well.
I guess British people who like comics tend to have swords! Who knew? =P

Does seem to be a trend. Wait, I have a sword also. Man, guess its standard geek equipment.

Specifically, I have a cool replica gladius hanging on the wall in my office.

I want the Highlander katana.
But I have no swords.
Now I'm sad.
