We all know that HERBIE exists because Marvel Comics Animation was unable to use Human Torch in their 1978 cartoon. But is it possible that Johnny's replacement was actually BETTER than HIM??? I would argue that he was. HERBIE might not be the best robot ever, but Johnny isn't a very interesting human. Something that HERBIE definitely has over him is that he has very few appearances, while Johnny has waaay too many! What do you think? Also, every single time I post anything, I get a feeling I've posted it before, so sorry if that's the case!

Try the Mark Waid run. Torch is really great there. He doesn't stop having flaws, but he becomes much more self-aware and uses his strengths to his advantage.

Hey, I really like those 60s solo Human Torch stories where Johnny either fights communists, commies, the reds, or the Russians.

Haven't seen the cartoon, but if HERBIE is anything like in the comic, I'll go for the Torch

There are no good comics with HERBIE, and many with the Torch, so the Torch definitely.
