She says a lot more in later issues. Even with language changes, it is pretty obvious she is making a pass at peter.

Is it a coincidence that his name is a synonym for penis (Peter)? I think not ;) lmao

Hmmm, I would guess it's a coincidence, but sure, when MJ joins the gang things get much more 'slanged'...

What would you say if I tell you I'm learning English slang with these old comics, stuff like: Am I going nuts?, Wooowee, Tiger, bucks, ol', it's time for fun and games, drat the luck and so on and on. I pretty much rely on Urban Dictionary to understand sometimes. I wonder if going to any English speaking country if I would sound complete outdated on a pub chat....

I would like to add Daddy-O to this thread. It's probably my favorite bit of 60s' slang that is included in Silver Age Marvel comics.

I'm pretty sure she says multiple times, that petey-o turns her on and stuff like that.

Yeah, but in the 60's this was used a lot more for things other than sex. Music, art, film. If you were passionate about it, if it got you excited, it turned you on. I'm pretty sure MJ (and by extension Stan Lee) she was just saying she liked being around him, as it was fun and exciting to her.

Add to the list;
Milk sop
Fashion plate
Playmate (in the context it's used here)

I say that all the time.

I don't think I've heard 'goldbrick' much outside of Nick Fury comics. :P

Also, I don't think I've heard anyone use "living doll" in real life.

Let's not forget that "Mary Jane" is also a synonym for marijuana. LOL

"He means it!" sure is a popular phrase when someone makes a threat and/or guarantee
