Reading issues from the 60s is just not holding my interest but I really wanted to read something new to me. I decided on Operation: Zero Tolerance which is an X-Event that takes place after Onslaught.
Anyways, I had a reading order that I had found on the Internet ages ago and was all set to start when I thought I'd cross reference the list. I found like 37 sites/forums with different reading orders for this stupid event.
But it's not really their fault, as the books don't exactly spell it out. My impression is that it's a series of inter connected events happening simultaneously that don't really touch each other. I think.

All of this, while somewhat irritating, is fine. I get it. I know why it is the way it is.

Here's the part that aggravates the shit out of me:
Marvel put out a collected edition of this thing. Sure, it's out of print but you'd think one of us comic nerds would have taken the time to put on the inter web somewhere what order MARVEL collected it in because, you ask me, that's the order I want to read the damn thing in!
Sure, I can find 100 sites that tell me WHICH comics are in the collection but none of them mention in what order they are published.

The best part is I'm fairly sure this event is NOT worth the frustration.

Well, not every site can be the CMRO...
I remember being really crazy with the whole series orders' problem before I found the Order.

That's what I found else where.

I'm really looking to find what order they were collected in the TPB that Marvel released though.

It's that way for lots of TPBs though... Sure you can find a list of which comics are inside but no one thinks to tell you what order they are collected into. I find that extremely frustrating.

Why don't you just read it and figure out the proper order as best you can? Sounds like you aren't going to get anywhere by searching for a list especially if the story isn't linear.

Yeah, I have no idea about the TPB order, except that the TPB doesn't contain any Uncanny X-Men at all.. so I suspect it's not as complete as a reading order would be.

That list I posted turned up in a "Major Events Chronology" thing I have. Obviously it has a "What If?" in there as well so I think it's just basically everything related to Zero Tolerance, even non-canon.

Though this site seems to go into some depth about it as well.

And yeah, as Pyro said, I don't think it'll matter too much what order it is in, most of the orders will probably make perfect sense regardless (Insofar as it makes sense at all).

You're correct, of course. It's just aggravating that there *is* a definitive answer that I'm looking for but can't find.

So find it through experience then add your knowledge to the Internet. Specifically this site. :) Saving someone in the future from the same frustration.
