My question and concern is whether or not Pixar can step up to the plate to make a more serious toned movie.

You haven't seen toy story 3, have you? Ok, it's not SERIOUS in the sense of a batman begins or w/e, but the incinerator scene? Man!

I'm with you in the way that i too think that the styles of marvel end pixar don't really seem to fit together.

So what are we discussing here? Could Pixar handle making a serious marvel animated movie? or will they?

I think that they could totally do a serious film, and i think it would be awesome, but the question is, does anybody think that Marvel will let them?

Let me pose one other question, what Marvel characters/story arcs would you like to see Pixar do?

For me it had to be either some spacetastic fantastic four stuff or x-men/avengers. I think it had to be an ensemble film and not a single hero.

Or a young team like Power Pack or New Mutants that could have a lighter feel

Runaways could be pretty sweet.

It would be pretty awesome to see a Pixar movie different from the style they used us with. And I think that a Marvel movie would be the perfect choice for a project like this.

Or....imagine a Marvel movie...Avengers let's say, made in the Pixar style. Well, that would be hilarious. Just imagine how the Hulk would look like xD

Nope, it's not only you. A movie made like that would look like a movie made for 3-10 years old kids to me. Pixar should stick to their usual funny movies.

Aside from Cars 2, I don't think Pixar have made a "funny" movie in a while. Their films usually have some laughs, but the reason they're so well respected is they're worth more than that.
