Why during the 60s and 70s are creators constantly putting themselves in comics? Interacting with Characters?

It's really annoying. I am rating every comic that happens lower, it bugs me so much..

You mean you didn't like when The Fantastic Four came to our world to meet 'God'? LMAO

That was not a great arc.

I think roy thomas kept showing up in the avengers and he always looked like he was wearing a womans tank top. Get some sleeves or a coat man. Although I did enjoy stan lee and jack kirby getting bounced from reed and sue's wedding.

This does not bother me at all.

Further appearance off the top of my head: John Byrne in UXM in the famous dark phoenix run (110s?). I didn't notice it while reading, but I read someone pointing it out in the letters page & went back & confirmed...well, I didn't have to look too far back, it was a masterwork THB (yes, I am that sad that I read the letters pages when they are available...sometimes I have even been known to google the letter authors...goodness, that is just creepy!)

Roy Thomas, that guy must have been seeing the same psychiatrist as Mr & Mrs Cary Grant!

Works fine for me with FF because this series always got that sort of meta-level with Ben reading comic-books of other Marvel heroes and stuff. They probably shouldn't have done it with other titles, though.

I always hated when they did that as well. I guess at the time it was maybe a cool idea, but it just seems super lame now.

This is one of my pet peeves - I absolutely hate it when the creators inject themselves in the world. It's just horrible and not interesting at all.
