Ant-man first appearance is in "Tales to Astonish #27"Jan 10 1962. It should be at slot #2 or #3 on the list as the publish date is identical to "Fantastic Four #2" - Jan 10 1962.

The recap in issue #35 is slightly different then issue #27 itself. According to marvel, #27 is out of continuity, #35 is in.

Just read both. I don't see any continuity differences in them. They only added that he decided to recreate the serums and keep them locked away until "the world may be ready for them"

If they really think that way they shouldn't have print it in Essential Ant-man. That way they contradict themselves.

That's right. Read also my posting here: viewtopic.php?p=2838#p2838

It's definitely not out of continuity, but - as far as I know, could be wrong here - it predates the 'Marvel Comics'-brand. So when you put the first appearance of Ant-Man in The Order, you've got to include the complete Sub-Mariner, Captain America and many more. I think that's the problem.

I'd just change the issue note:

Quote:
Henry Pym previously appeared in Tales to Astonish #27, however this is the first real appearance and tells some of the #27 story differently.

...in something like 'read Tales to Astonish #27 first, although it predates Marvel Comics' or something like that and all is good.

I understand about the Cap and Mariner. However their publish dates are pre FF#1. Tale to Astonish #27 is post FF#1, Jan 10 1962", and this is why I thought it should be in the list.

I don't know if Astonishing Tales #14 is missing or if there was no story in that issue.
