Just a quick question, If these issues of Solomon Kane are in as a flashback, and I agree they should be in, how about titles like the Invaders?

Travis, maybe you just haven't added this yet, but I thought you were pretty much done with 1987, so I thought I'd point this out. There was an original Wolverine story titled "The Hunter" that was printed in a book titled The Best of Marvel Comics in 1987. There's a brief description of this book here, where you can see the table of contents. "The Hunter" is an in-continuity 616 story, so it should be in the Order.

It has been discussed a bunch of places. We pulled out the WWII books to make the main order more readable, and they are very easily pulled from the main 616 order. You don't miss their absense (same reason as Sgt. Fury, and the other 5 or so silver age WWII books). There will be a Silver Age WWII order that these books will feature in, plus they will be part of the combined order.

The reason Kane is in the main 616 order and the WWII books are out is the size of them collectively. He has a total of like 10 books, and there are no other stories/titles that can be grouped with him to make an easily separated order. So it was either here, or tacked onto one of the separated orders (which really doesn't work since he is so different from those other groupings).

There was a general poll a long while ago where most people who took it felt sgt. fury should be out (that poll has recently - within the last few months - flipped so now 52% think it should be in....but at this point it is a bit to late for that). With the inclusion of the combined order, when that goes live, all this stuff will be available in one place.

I was aware of the story, but have been having trouble find any information on that books. I can find nothing on published dates, released dates, who is in the story, who worked on the story....I will get it included if someone can direct me to real info on this book (pretty much everything you see on an issue details page I need to know)

Also, don't take the next paragraph as I am disagreeing. Everything I find says this story is in 616...(I just haven't included it because I can't actually find enough info on it to include it)

But.

Just because a story is in an anthology book, doesn't mean it is in-continuity 616. There are a lot of anthology books with "new" stories of characters that are clearly not in-continuity. Marvel, especially during the 80s and 90s, made a lot of anthology trades, and they were not always 100% 616 material. Nothing in that table of contents suggestions what universe the story is in one way or another. The Mobius Silver Surfer books were tagged as a "all new Silver Surfer story", with no indication that it is in or out of 616 continuity. I am just pointing this out because you put up a lot of anthology books or marvel listing books as "proof" that it is 616, and we should be careful about this. When putting together repackaged material, I have seen a ton of errors and non-connected things repackaged together without thought to what continuity something is in...

Marvel Tales #198 (Publish Date)

This is a Fantastic Four story. According to the Chronology Project and the Wikia, it takes place between their appearances in Avengers 227 (#4675) and FF 251 (#4729).

I don't have the anthology book it was originally published in, but "The Hunter" was reprinted in Les Daniels's book Marvel: Five Fabulous Decades of the World's Greatest Comics. I don't see anything in the story to indicate it's not a 616 story. Here's some info that's provided in the reprinted version:

Title: The Hunter

Writer: Chris Claremont
Penciler: Marshall Rogers
Inker: Randy Emberlin
Colorist: Bob Sharen
Letterer: Tom Orzechowski
Editor: Michael Higgins
Editor in Chief: Tom DeFalco

Appearances: Wolverine, Sabuko (the villain in the story), Mandroids, Mariko Yashida

The text in the margins confirms that this story was originally published in 1987 for the anthology I mentioned in my above post. I don't have a more specific release date, unfortunately.

I have a copy of "The Hunter" that was reprinted in Marvel: Five Fabulous Decades of the World's Greatest Comics. It is 6 pages long. Aside from Wolverine, it features Mariko Yashida and some Mandroids. The credits are:
Chris Claremont, writer
Marshall Rogers, penciler
Tom Orzechowski, letterer
Randy Emberlin, inker
Bob Sharen, colorist
Michael Higgins, editor
Tom DeFalco, editor in chief

Yea, but you are talking a 4-5 year gap. Generally we try to stick to publish order, especially if more then a year/year and a half between published dates.

Avengers 227 was published in 1983, Marvel Tales 198 in 1987. So it will probably go closer to publish date and marked as a flashback, to stay with the general ordering concept of the site.
