I just hit a milestone. I hit #1000 in the Order!
All in all, I've got there quite fast... I doubt I'll get to 2000 as fast.

I'm back! It's been a little while but the call of Marvel eventually got to me. This time I went for a full years worth of MDCU, my goal is to read more consistently and hit the 70's in the next few months. Unfortunately I ended up taking a break right in a big chunk of boring in the order, and it's been real rough getting in the groove again. My short term goal is to see the transition to solo series.

Question for the big readers, when does Avengers and Captain America get good? Hercules just showed up in the former and it's showing some promise. But Captain America is rough in every sense of the word, in fact I'd go so far as to rank it at the same level as TTA Namor right now.

Cap gets much better when he moves into his solo stories. Avengers....well I wouldn't say they have gotten good, but they get better once the team stops being quicksilver, scarlet witch, cap, and hawkeye. I guess it was around the Kree-Skrull war that it got better.

That's good, if I can make it through an upcoming 5 issue run of Daredevil then I'm hoping that between Iron Man, Hulk, and Thor I'll pick up some real momentum.

 I still remember when I was starting and someone told me it gets better when the team STARTS being quicksilver, scarlet witch, cap, and hawkeye. I guess it's all depends how far did You go.

Which brings me to this:

It took me 7 months, 20 days, 14 hours, 34 minutes & 18 seconds ( ;) estimated ) but I finally made it. It can be done!!!!

Congratulations! That is an absolutely insane amount of comics to read in such a short amount of time.

I still remember when I was reading my first comic in english. It was 12 years ago, it was Watchmen, it took me 3 weeks and I understood about 60% of it. Had to buy polish version eventually.

Wonderful site. Kudos.

I'm up to late 1975 and really enjoying the ride. I mostly read Essentials and have no problem with the black and white, but I'll get the floppies or color trades if they are available and not too spendy. I move pretty slow, as I also read lots of 1980s independent titles (Eclipse and First, mostly) and some modern titles (Fables, The Walking Dead, Scalped).

As far as the question of catching up to "real time," I haven't seen any mention of the '90s and the prospect of skipping large swaths of Marvel dreck. That and the reduced word count in books as we move forward likely means we'll speed up despite the massive increase in titles.

Anybody else looking ahead and considering the possibility of passing over bad runs?

Congrats Calthor and Fragsel! Both enormous achievements :)

At this point, I think I'm fairly committed to reading everything from the lines I stick with. As I progress further, though, I think I'm going to start cutting out entire lines. I'm already feeling completely unmotivated when it comes to Doctor Strange (nothing HAPPENS!) and Daredevil (ridiculous). But then, at one point I dreaded every Ant-Man issue, and I've gotten used to those, even if I'll never look forward to them.

The good thing is both of those titles get a lot better.
