So ... I recently noticed that the Order has reached 94-95 mark and that made me very excited! The 90s are about half-way done and the order is beginning to breath down the 2000s neck ...and I'm ecstatic.

My childhood was 60s/70s comics, but my teenage years were the 2000s. Events like Civil War, House of M, Secret Invasion, World War Hulk and Dark Reign defined my generations era of comics. I spent months collecting a ton of these comics with my father (mostly Civil War) because their dark and serious tones had me drawn to them like a fly to shit. It was also my first time experiencing Marvel events on such a large scale. I could also relate to these events as a kid who grew up in post 9/11 New York City ... The increase in security ... the militarization of a city.... the constant war and fear of economic collapse ... the looming eye of "Big Brother" ... it was rough ... but the comics remained true to the times and I respect that.

Noticing that the order is almost there has me crazy excited and wanting to read events that I have already read or never read during the 2000s. I have also been looking over Maidel's House of M and Civil War reading orders and the temptation is just way too much :D

So, without further ado, I present the Marvel 00s Essential Events Reading Order.

HAHA - I seriously dont care about the credit - you are probably better off using the words:

Maidel did this, dont blame me if its wrong

:)

Only those three, but secret invasion has the 'inflitration' pre-event

Is it me or does this list seem a little 00s X-Men specific?

Yes ... Apocalypse: the Twelve is strictly a X-Men event. I'm doing one event at a time ... I'm working through this X-Men event right now ... I hate working through X-Men events ... The X-Men in general are all over the place.

So I updated the Apocalypse: The Twelve event. I'm still reading through the event and adding and moving titles where it makes sense. Uncanny X-Men.net really helped in adding more background and organizing this event. Those story notes at the end of each issue are a fantastic reference when piecing together any X-Men reading order.

The Prelude is still buggy since I haven't finished reading it, but I managed to sort out the beginning of the prelude so that it would make sense. The prelude that Wikipedia and Uncanny X-Man.net gave was buggy and started the events off in the middle of an ongoing story that would confuse every reader. This event also happens right after the Magneto War event .... which is not needed to understand what is going on. The writers really inform the reader of all prior events ... so that is definitely a plus.
