Holdo in the book is in the process of discovering who she is, just like Leia. At the end of the book, she is learning to take the parts of her culture and her personal style and integrate them. It's quite believable to me that Holdo could become the person we saw in The Last Jedi.

Leia, Princess of Alderaan is aces, by the way.

I just finished... WOW... the last 60 pages or so was amazing....

I was caught off guard about Kier......

@Travis.....

ok, while I agree with you about Amilyn and all the ditsyness, by the end of the book, I loved her, and could see a little teeny, tiny bit of how she could turn into the Vice Admiral we see in the movie... I mean she had her shit together during the whole Paucris Major incedent....

I agree you see a little, but its presented in a ... flighty way. I can't imagine what happened to make her so serious and down to earth by the time of Last Jedi.

And yea, the last third of that book is very very good. Honestly, in response to a question you'd asked, while I liked Ahsoka quite a lot, I think I like this better. So far, it's my favorite of the new canon books (not having read anything beyond Thrawn, which I'm 2/3 through). My only real problem is how they handled kier there at the end. I get they had to shuffle him off, but it didn't feel right the way they did it.

Also, this together with Ahoska and the bits we see of him in the movies, Bail is in the running for my one of my favorite Star Wars characters.
