this is a horrible adaptation of Empire.... I'm a little over half, and I hate the little meditation BS inbetween chapters.... and the whole POV thing.... and it barely adds any new scenes... it took me over half the book before I got to Degobah, and then I guess the new scene is when Luke and Yoda are in his hut, before Luke knows it's Yoda, Yoda tells him a fairy tale (because the author is known for fairy tale books) and the book cuts away from Empire to tell the fairy tale Yoda tells Luke......

I gave up on this one partway through. It tries to do something different, but it just didn't work for me.

The ANH adaptation (Farm Boy, Princess, Scoundrel one) is decent, giving the most new insights into Leia but adequately telling all three stories.

Beware the Power of the Dark Side! for Return of the Jedi is fantastic! It has a definite authorial storytelling voice that I like, and the footnote information is the kind of addition that adds to the fun and makes it more than just an updated retelling of the same story.

yeah, I just finished all three over the weekend, and your assessment is basically how I feel as well.... Beware was really good...funny that my least favorite of the original trilogy movies ends up being my favorite of this set of adaptations.....
