Since we have a Clone Wars Series thread, I figured we should get a Rebels thread going.....

So I'm on my second viewing of the series, but this time I'm reading all the junior novels involved in the first season, and I'm actually a little impressed... They really do add to the first season.... the only thing I don't like is that they really mess up the flow if your trying to binge watch the show... With Clone Wars on the canon side, it's a straight shot from start to finish... not so much with Rebels... about every two or three episodes you have to stop what you are watching and break away to read a 175 page junior novel, or 12 issues of a comic series... they are pretty good stories and add a lot of detail, but even if you power through them, you need to put the show on hold for days or weeks depending on your allotment of free time to devote to reading.... then you come back to the show, and in like an hour or so, your stuck again, reading another 175 to 200 pages.....

While they add a lot to the show at the beginning, I prefer the stand alone novels when it comes to reading a star wars story.... they are not so intertwined with an ongoing visual aspect of the canon material....

another comment... While I love Ashoka from Clone Wars, Ezra is so annoying... I mean his relationship with Zeb makes things a little better, but in the end, he is still annoying...

after 3 and half seasons, Hera is easily my favorite, followed quickly by Sabine.... and then Chopper.... of the core cast....

Kanan is cool and all, but he has SOOOO much baggage in his characterization, that he can be a drag sometimes.... I like Zeb for the most part but just not my favorite....

I really enjoyed Jason Fry's Rebels novels. He really fleshed out what otherwise would have been a forgettable character.

I just finished the last book, and it was a really great series.... both Zare and Merei were awesome characters... so many twists and turns for both of them through the whole series... I loved when Merei finally had to tell her parents everything, and her father's reaction was hysterical...

and something else to note, this introduced Brendol Hux, the father of Armitage Hux from TFA.... while this was obviously not the beginnings of the First Order, it does show that even Hux's father had his own secret vision for the Empire as early as Rebels season 1....

I thoroughly enjoyed it. Short, but satisfying.

Hey Raist, in Path of the Jedi (S1E08), do you think that was actually Yoda? You listed him, but it seems to me to be maybe an illusion of the force, and not actually Yoda.
