Do you think it would be beneficial to have a little "hand holding" for new users to have some step-by-step instructions for registering, picking a leaderboard portrait, marking lists, etc...?

You could put tables for advancing in ranks and earning badges there, too.

I know much of it is already self-explanitory, but there is also a bit of a learning curve.

It might draw a few more users in, who are interested in the site, but are maybe scared away by the overwhelming "awesomeness" of the project.

Just a thought, I see the number of registered users is approaching 300, with only a fraction regularly active.

I like this idea a lot. It might be worth including some sections about The Marvel Universe itself such as: What is Earth-616? I would have liked something succinct like that when I got started, rather than having to dig through wikis and whatnot. I would be willing to write up some sections for that if you wanted to include it. It seems like you enjoy most of the work you do for the site, but the offer is on the table.

And sure, I would love help with some of this. Here are some of the subjects for the Marvel Universe Primer part of the FAQ that I thought up. If there are some I missed let me know. If you want to write this up for the site, no problem, I just ask that you not copy off of anyone else's site, as I don't want to run into copyright issues.
