In power man 25 there is a reference to a fight between the ff and the circus of crime in giant size ff #5, but that issue looks like a straight reprint issue to me. Does anyone know what this editors note referes to?

Don't worry. Giant Size Fantastic Four 5 is reprint issue of Fantastic Four Annual 5 (nov 1967) which is listed in Order. It's common for Marvel to make editor notes about reprint issues (especially if they were published the same month or month before - as is the case here) and not about the origininal issue. That's the case in one of Essential Spider-Man vol. where all the notes are about marel tales and not about Amazing Spider-man (my guess is that's where they took the printing material from).
