WTH?! I just read ToS #84. Everyone sees Tony's chest plate. So what after years of worrying about exposing the plate and people figuring out he's Iron Man, his fear was unfounded because they can't put two and two together. This I assume would have avoided quite a bit of strain on ol' Tony's heart had he known every was stupid.

As a side note, maybe he just didn't want it seen in prior to this, lest one of many people figure it out. Maybe when he did sleep with those women he just said it was a bullet proof vest that he always had to wear. Judging by the women he dated they'd buy it. That is a lot less eerie than the LMD theory.
