I know it's separate from the 616 universe, but in the Ultiverse Tony Stark would get my vote as the smartest. His references about reading giant books and memorizing them and learning new languages... that takes the cake for me.

It's hard for me to appear unbiased but I think that's a bit low for Doom...
Tied with Beast? I don't know...
Going off your list I could live with
Richards
Stark
Doom
T'Chala
Pym
Banner
Cho
If Cho were still 7... I have a hard time with McCoy and Osborn up that high And I don't think Leader should count...

1. Kitty can be a 'genius' if you want, but top 10? Even top 20, no way.
2. Leader is out for me, b/c we're going with unenhanced (not a word I guess) brains. No gamma rads in my list.
3. Maybe we expand this out. Like top 20 might give more perspective.

if it is unenhanced, haven't they mentioned before that Beasts higher intellect might be a part of his mutation? if this is true then he would be off the list correct?

Also, what about the High Evolutionary? He seems like a pretty smart guy.

I'd consider high evolutionary. But I was not aware of Beast's intelligence being tied to his mutation. Someone check wikipedia! If only someone was awake who knew how to search the internet!

well wikipedia says:

Hank is born with a vast intellect, unusually long arms and legs, and unusually large hands and feet for a human

which makes it sound like it might be, however it is difficult to tell if he was just born really smart like Reed Richards and the rest or if it is a part of his mutation.

In my mind, which I consider a superior source, I've never tied Beasts intellect to his mutation.

His "beastly" nature grant him uncanny agility, strength and speed. Those make sense as they are pretty well related. Intellect just doesn't seem to fit in as something that would be a part of that particular mutation. C

I do agree but you could also argue that superior intelligence is a definite advantage in a beastly creature. Imagine if Gorillas were more intelligent than us i.e. Planet of the Apes? With their physical prowess and the additional edge of being highly intelligent they would be higher on the food chain therefore more evolved. Evolution is what governs mutation.

Well, not exactly. =P Mutation is random, successful mutations (i.e. better adaptation) result in evolution.
