I grew up with Scott and Jean being the ultimate superhero relationship. I literally was the first person in the door in the morning at my local comic book store when
X-Men #30 came out. I was in the fourth grade.
As I read more and more and found out about stuff like Madelyn Pryor I pretty much just put my hands in my ears and said "nyah nyah nyah I can't hear you!" Needless to say Scott and Emma pissed me off royally.
Now I've come to accept that Scott is kind of a tool (not that he isn't right a lot of the times) and they just aren't going to let Scott and Jean have a happily ever after. Oh well.
That being said, I'd probably have to go with Peter and Mary Jane as my favorite. But they had to go and eff that up too, didn't they? I guess it makes sense when you think their target audience is 14 year old boys and nobody wants to see a lot of happy lovey-dovey stuff. I'm just too much of a romantic, maybe.
Oh, and this is interesting if you guys haven't seen it: it's a relationship map of X-Men related characters. Pretty tangled.
