Well I just got to the first comic in the core list I hadn't already read - the origin of Hawkman in Flash #1. My mouse hovered over skip for a few seconds... but I couldn't press it! I'm too aspy to skip something in a list! So I had to read it, and now I guess I have a lot more to go back to. Lucky I still have all the Flash comics on my iPad. ;)

P.S. It was actually pretty good for its age!

Hawkman is probably worth it. He's pretty cool.

Edit: actually I've also enjoyed Scribbly to a pretty large extent so feel free to disregard

Update on Detective Picture Stories #2: The book is back from the CGC. If our friend remains willing, I should have the pictures in a few days.

I also found a collector who has an ungraded copy of Detective Picture Stories #3. Although not in The Order, I'm trying to persuade him to take pictures of it. Would be cool to make it available.

Edit: DPS2 should be available sometime this weekend...

Fantastic news!

Good luck with #3! Having the full run preserved would definitely be a positive thing even if that issue isn't relevant to our purposes.

And so, we finally close the chapter on the Lost Scans of Detective Picture Stores #2.
Scans are being made as we speak, and we'll be able to finally read a lost "classic".
Whether the story in it is good, however... is another tale. ;)

There's some historical importance in Detective Picture Stories #2 because it's the first appearance of the Orchid, a female foil for the Clock. However, as far as I've gotten in the Order as of this writing, she's only made one other appearance (Feature Funnies #3) so I don't know how important she is to the series itself, as of yet. Still, it's an amazing find and I thank lilzetha for the effort it took to locate it.

Here is Detective Picture Stories #2 in cbz format: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1t5ESM ... siYW8uabhh

Unfortunately the source photos were not ideal as they were taken at an angle. Pretty darn good, but not perfect. I did what I could to restore the perspective on each page to maximize readability.

The Clock story is 100% legible and 99% uncropped. As for the rest of the book there are maybe 4 or 5 panels where you might have to squint or take an educated guess as to the exact words due to blurring or cropping.

Any cropping you see on the panels was in the source photos. I did not crop any part of the panels in adjusting the page perspective.

If you become suspicious that I did a bad job, please feel free to make your own cbz file with the source photos here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1xuMpQ ... lfAgyt6Yny

Let me know if you have any questions! Still waiting on Detective Picture Stories #3 but as I said, that's not in The Order.

EDIT: I would like to mention again that this comic is in the public domain.

Fantastic news! Thank you for acquiring it for us (and thanks to your source for taking the pics).

I think you did a fine job, but it's nice to have the source files anyway (:

As to the actual contents, my previous guess was quite wrong indeed: the WAGS page we had isn't page 3, it's a cutup of pages 5 and 6 with an out of order panel for formatting purposes (and one changed bit of dialogue). So we actually had 2/7 pages and who knows how the remainder were partitioned. Doesn't matter now obviously, but it's funny how things turn out xD
