That's sadly a lot of titles I'm currently not interested to read, since I only wanted to read the third run of Thor. Even worse (for me) is that wiki says 'It [Reign] deals with the aftermath of the "Dark Reign" company-wide storyline'. And about Dark Reign it says 'It deals with the aftermath of the "Secret Invasion" storyline'. Back to square one... :|

I'm not sure how to handle this. I probably just begin at Siege: Cabal and then go the whole checklist. And try to ignore that I'm not aware of important past events. Any thoughts / suggestions about that?

If you just want to know what happens, I'd suggest reading Siege 1-4.

I know a lot of us see lists like this and think we need to read all of it to get the bigger picture.
But here's the thing: most cross overs aren't actually written as running narratives. A well-written cross over contains all the information you need in the main series. A few use a tie-in or two as supplemental reading.
All of the rest of the tie-in are more about showing what the stars of their book are up to durring the cross over. This is helpful if you're reading Thunderbolts. It shows you what the team was doing durring the Siege, particularly when they're not on panel in the main series. But their team narrative is in no way important to the main narrative.

Just read Siege. If you like it and want to see a little more read Siege: Embedded.
If you love it and want much more, read the titles of the most involved characters/teams. (New Avengers, Dark Avengers, Thor (which I know you're reading))
If you find you have to have it all, feel free to read all of the other crap, but be prepared to be disappointed- it's not important at all.

Look at it this way: right now you're reading the narrative of Thor. Siege is an important piece of said narrative. If inspires you to pick up another book, that's a good thing. But it doesn't directly affect the narrative of Thor.

Is that any help?

Great help, DOOM, thank you. I'll take your advice and leave all the titles out that are not mentioning Siege or Thor (you've named only the main Siege titles (1 to 4) and Emdebbed, but clearly I have to read also Storming Asgard and then I can also read Cabal and Origins...even it should not interefere with Thor; one or two issues more to read is fine with me). Just glad I don't have to go through series like Dark XY which I never heard about before.

It's not the amount of issues per se, it's the amount of titles I never read a single issue of. That would distract me even more from the main storyline of Thor as it already does.

I am not a big fan of the way Seige was written. So many titles intertwine with it, I felt those titles were hard to read by themselves, if you hadn't already read the main series. Especially mighty avengers.

Ahhh, I see it's available on the digital subscription, which means I can read it and become as confused as I was reading Civil War. Yay.
