I read it in that order which turned out consistent:

Prologue:

    01. Fantastic Four #533
    02. Fantastic Four #534
    03. Fantastic Four #535
    04. The New Avenegers: Illuminati #1
    05. The Incredible Hulk #88
    06. The Incredible Hulk #89
    07. The Incredible Hulk #90
    08. The Incredible Hulk #91

    Main story Planet Hulk:

    09. The Incredible Hulk #92
    10. The Incredible Hulk #93
    11. The Incredible Hulk #94
    12. The Incredible Hulk #95
    13. Giant Size Hulk #1
    14. The Incredible Hulk #96
    15. The Incredible Hulk #97
    16. The Incredible Hulk #98
    17. The Incredible Hulk #99
    18. The Incredible Hulk #100
    19. The Incredible Hulk #101
    20. The Incredible Hulk #102
    21. The Incredible Hulk #103
    22. The Incredible Hulk #104
    23. The Incredible Hulk #105

I've enjoyed that story arc a lot and besides touching slighlty Civil War in the prologue it did work as a stand-alone. The story reminded me in large parts of Spartacus which worked great placing the always enraging Hulk in the middle of it and the humor was well paced (HULK SLASH! ). Loved the cameo of that stone guy from an early Thor issue I've read in The Order. And having...

Silver Surfer

...on the very same planet with a reasonable explanation was a great surprise.

Only downside: Now I'm hooked for the conclusion but Irishmetal's reading order looks discouraging to me, not knowing much about the other series involved.

Like I said in the other thread I really loved this arc. Felt very inspired by the Barsroom books to me, which I also love. The WWH reading order shouldn't be too bad. FWIR the Ant-Man, Heroes for Hire, and Front line books were very optional. The rest of the stuff is basically all of the heroes getting their asses kicked.

Yeah, I think Doom suggested simply reading WWH #1-5 first, and then reading through the other titles individually. I read it according to a reading order, and it often felt like there was a bit too much going on. Most of the stories were pretty well contained within their respective series, although obviously most of them happened before WWH #5, I'm not sure it would hurt much for them to be read afterwards. There was a particular story that I really enjoyed in World War Hulk, I can't remember which series it was.. but it basically involved Korg enlisting the aid of a detective to figure out the mysterious death of a certain character. Something about it really captured my imagination.

I just re-read this... man, this is just iconic.... easily one of the best Hulk stories ever.... the cast, themes, & storyline... Pak just nails them..... and coming off of Civil War, this is exactly what you need to forget about all that ugliness and get back to a story that is what you want from a comic book....
