Interesting...I see a different last post for this forum on the main page. When I come here to read the whole thing, it's not here.

Ohh, the 70's aren't all bad. I actually really enjoyed the comics in 70-73. Some really good stuff in there. Just hitting a rough patch.

On DD, yea, that's a long run of bad. It doesn't get better for a very long time. But you have some really good Spider-Man stories to go through, along with some pretty good Thor and Captain America also in the late 60's.

Yea, its one posted as a quest. I hadn't approved it yet, but the main page shows the raw feed out of the database. That post is now showing right before yours.

I didn't know you were approving board posts. I guess maybe you started that after that last massive run of spam?

I don't approve board posts, just guest posts. Posts where people haven't made an account.

I'd say they kinda get in the groove after the solo Torch stories end. I absolutely hated that run. After that, three quarters of the books are good to excellent. Of course there are some scattered dips in quality...
I'm in '71-'72, and while not as good as '67-'68, there are many good stories. I have yet to reach any of the horror books, though.

I'm almost done 1973, and it's easier to read than most of 1962-1965, everyone here agrees that 1965 was when the writing started to improve. The hard part is a lot of the stories in the early 1970's are terrible, but the scripts aren't nearly as bad, IMHO, as the early 1960's, so they are easier to read and thus quicker to be done with. I will say this, Thor in 1973-1974 has been awesome to read, Spider-Man dips a little, but it's still fun, and most of the main series, like FF, DD, and Avengers has generally stayed the same. I think my next big milestone will be the Introduction of the New X-Men, so i'm looking forward to that.

Hi all,

I read my first digital comic on the weekend and immediately decided to get back into comics after over a decade away from them. The Marvel universe has always intrigued me but like many others, I was totally put off by the amount of comics and not knowing what order to read them in.

Finding this site was an awakening and it's great to know I'm not the only insanely pedantic completist out there that simply can't do anything without going the whole way. I'm committing myself to the order and have read the first three comics in the last couple of days. Loving it already (for the journey moreso than the quality) and while I don't ever expect to finish it (I have way too many other responsibilities and hobbies), it at least gives me a focus for my refound comics passion.

I've just got myself an MU digital subscription which I didn't even know about until reading this thread. I was prepared to pay $1.99 for every comic so $60 a year for unlimited comics is an incredible bargain!

Thanks to everyone working on this site and I'm sure you'll see me around here from now on.

The Trickster
