Yes, thanks to NetFlix I have learned that you guys call seasons of shows series on that side of the pond.

I dunno about that. I've seen it sometimes and that's confused me. We have the same base property, but it'll be a new series. There can be a few seasons of a series, and then it will change - see Star Trek, or perhaps Dr Who. Same thing, but different series, usually after a reboot or extended time off the air.

In Ireland everyone calls them seasons anyway.

And after reading series so many times it's now lost meaning to me :D

No one in this area was happy about the ending and its even more weird watching the show Jorge Garcia in Alcatraz while they are doing similar story lines, shady people, big mystery. I am wondering if it ends up getting canceled or not??

Is Alcatraz still on? I was DVRing it when it first came on and then forgot about it. It looked good to me. I loved Lost! I was the biggest fan around. I have to admit that I hated the last season. What a let down! It was not one thing but many things that irritated me.
