They announce last week that they are turning Elder Scrolls into an MMO. They will use the existing world (most of which has been shown in different Elder Scroll games that have come out), and add in MMO elements.

You are the king of reporting bad news.

Come on. This will be awesome. This world was made for being an MMO.

I just have no interest in anything MMO.
I play video games to escape from the real world, not be beleaguered by dealing with real people. I've had to put up with people's crap at my day job for years. I don't want someone going crazy and killing everyone in site and I don't want to hear about it if I feel like doing that same thing.

Just my take on it. Obviously they are a much love genre.

I don't like dealing with other people either. Believe it or not, I always play MMO's by myself, no grouping with other people. I like them because of their open ended expansiveness.

One of the things I really like about the Elder Scrolls games (and as I've said before, I'm not a massive fan) is the feeling of inhabiting a real world. Trudging through the forest on the way to a destination and coming across deer to fill with arrows, or an ancient ruin to ransack is what makes the game world unlike any other. I have a feeling that would be spoiled somewhat when XxStormclaok69xX comes bunny-hopping across your field of vision.

I don't know. I play LOTRO from time to time, and the other players ten to be fairly respectful of the game. You don't see people hoping around acting the fool like you do in some MMO's. Same more or less with STO. I hold out a foolish and childlike optimism for it.

I have a pitch for incorporating multiplayer into Oblivion, hit the deets when I have a minute, but I share concern. Mostly that they'd neglect the console RPG epics in favor of the MMO.

Elder Scrolls is going to give World of Warcraft a run for its money. I am more into MMOs and haven't had the chance to play the single player version. I am excited to see it as an MMO.

Man, talk about hyperbole. I am not sure it is a big enough title to get close to touching WoW. If Star Wars couldn't do it, my feeling is no one can. Wow will only fail when it crumbles under its own weight.
