Two words: Bruce fucking Willis. 'Nuff said.

What? Wait a minute. Die Hard 5, worst idea for a movie ever...look it up. It exists, unfortunately.

I actually love Bruce Willis. I think he makes the most watchable movies. By that I mean he has a higher good movie to crap movie ratio than any other actor I can think of.

Is Die Hard 5 a *good* idea? No. Will I watch it? Yes. Will I enjoy it? Probably.

No. I'm a huge Bruce Fan. I was just making the Tom Cruise "money grab" analogy. But while we're on the subject:

Watchable Bruce:
Die Hard 1, 2, 3-Pulp Fiction-Sixth Sense-Fifth Element-Last Boy Scout-Unbreakable-Whole Nine Yards-Hart's War-The Jackal-Twelve Monkeys-Last Man Standing-Tears of the Sun-Hostage

Un-Watchable Bruce:
Hudson Hawk-Die Hard 4-Cop Out-16 Blocks-Sin City-Whole Ten Yards-Bandits-Armageddon-Bonfire of the Vanities-Striking Distance-Mercury Rising-The Siege

Ratio 15:12
Higher good to crap=Winner!
I'm sure I'll get some shit for trendy movies like Sin City or Armageddon. So be it.

For what it's worth I consider all of those watchable.
I'll concede Hudson Hawk- it's universally reviled but I like it.
Die Hard 4 is a crappy action movie. But it's a crappy action movie with John McClane in it.
I think I was just in the right frame of mind for Cop Out when I saw it, but it was hilarious.
Just disagree with 16 Blocks and Sin City.
I don't remember if I saw The Whole Ten Yards, but I do know it's considered pretty awful. I would watch it if it happened to be on TNT sometime when I was bored.
I don't remember Bandits, Bonfire of the Vanities or Striking Distance.
The parts of Armageddon with Bruce Willis in it are good.
Mercury Rising is pretty lame, but I sat through it again last year.
And The Siege is something I would watch if it was on.

Granted, I wouldn't ever get the DVD or go out of my way to watch most of them, but if I caught them on TV I might watch them.

I'll agree with you on everything but Sin City, which kicked large amounts of ass.

I am with green, I found the movie hard to watch visually. I get what they were doing, but it didn't make an enjoyable experience.

I love Bruce Willis, I hope they make a Die Hard 5. The thing is though, Die Hard is a franchise on all counts.. you can make sequel after sequel and just make it over the top and it's fine. Top Gun is a drama and a good standalone, a remake is unnecessary, a reboot is unnecessary, it's not a cult like Die Hard and we didn't all grow up wishing we were Maverick like we did John McClain.

Wow, seriously? Sin City hate?

I fucking love that movie.

Bruce Willis is very hit or miss for me, but he does often turn up in some very good movies. Pretty much if I hear Bruce Willis is in a movie, I will probably look into it further just in case.
