It might be more accurate to say he doesn't have powers but he does have skills.

You think green_flame? Skills - are you talking Hawkeye or Mustang? I would agree that Hawkeye has skills - that would be a good way to put it. I do think he has powers too though.

Point of order: Hawkeye is just a regular dude who is really good at shooting arrows. Also give him some bonus points for 'combat training with Captain America', but just a normal human.

Strength level: Hawkeye possesses the normal human strength of a man of his age, height, and build, who engages in intensive regular exercise.

Known Superhuman Powers: None.

I think there is something to be said for people with exceptional skill, Olympic athletes often have kids who posses high levels of athletic skills. The gifted often have smart kids.

Etc etc.

Nature vs nurture is still very much up in the air, especially on intelligence, which we still don't have great means to quantify. Even with progeny of athletes and their elite athleticism, how much is genetics vs growing up in the right environment with access to enhanced training resources?

I submit that this random ass, one off character who has officially now received more discussion here than probably Marvel creative and editorial gave him when they made him up, could only have inherited good human athleticism from Clint Sr, which would have been subsumed by his gamma momma's contribution. Maybe he would've got really good eyesight genes from Hawkeye, but without his dad there to teach him bowmanship, he'd just be another gamma clone. You don't inherit bow skills. Read about how the English used to train their archers from youth, with constant state mandated practice. This is why even primitive firearms beat longbows. You can pick up a gun and blast someone pretty easy, Americans especially, you know this. But if you were just handed a recursive longbow, you wouldn't even be able to draw it and you'd probably whack the shit out of your forearm for weeks while you figured it out. Thanks Boy Scouts for my archery merit badge.

All good points. I was just saying he would have gotten something from his pops...perhaps the nurture of training at least.

Who is to say that his dad didn't have time to train for a few years?

Nobody said he didn't. I don't think anyone's read this except the thread starter.

I should have quoted you with the other post. Without knowing more its all speculation anyway.
