http://www.buzzfeed.com/donnad/first-x-men-reveal-is-comic-lore-heaven"For fans of canon Marvel lore, this series will be the equivalent of the Rosetta Stone, filling in the story gaps that have plague Marvel for decades."
So this will detail pre-Xavier mutantology, but it sounds like it'll be not that long before he gets involved. Wolverine (duh), Sabretooth and Magneto kicking ass and taking names. Supposed to answer the question I never asked, why mutants are feared and hated. Duh again. As if we needed to have fear and resentment of people who can fly, shoot beams out of their eyes and muck about in our minds explained further. They say it is NOT X-Men First Class the comic book.
Too bad Wolverine is so long lived, it just gives them carte blanche to shoehorn him into more titles. And we've already seen the paramilitary 'strikeforce' mutant team several times. I do like Neal Adams' work, but I am not yet convinced of the story telling necessity.
And another thing. This kind of old school mutant revisionism...I don't always like it. Originally mutants were an extension of atomic age fears of radiation and unknown spooky sciences. There was a cause of mutantism, just like Fan4 and their cosmic radiation. I liked that better for some reason than the whole Apocalypse was a mutant back in ancient effin Egypt thing.
In the words of Sean Connery, "I am waiting to be impreshed". Drops in August.
