Debates are always closed once DOOM has spoken.

True that it might seem silly, but this entire site is built around people looking to read through 50 year old stories. It's logical that some people won't have read the stories yet and they will be soon. However.. in this case I've gotta say that if you read the spoilers it's your own fault. It's pretty well telegraphed. =P

Yea, I agree spoilers should be avoided, so people wanting to experience going through the order can do that. But, I also want to make as much information available as possible. So if you go out of your way to find information, you will. If you want to read through "pure", then its a good idea not to dig.

You're not wrong.
And I think we talked about this somewhere else...

BUT

{SPOILERS}

Where is the line drawn? I mean, are we worried about people who haven't read Amazing Fantasy #15 (off the top of my head, not 100% on that) learning that Peter Parker = Spider-Man?
For that matter, is it spoilery to mention that Reed doesn't actually "cure" Grimm's condition, despite many promises that he would?

How insulated are we expecting people to be? And what level of "common knowledge" is to be expected.

Gwend Stacy dies. There I said it.

I know I'm being an ass about it, but I think there's a valid point/discussion here regardless.

Would it best be for the link to the timeline page to go to a big line saying

SPOILERS!!!!

CLICK HERE IF YOU DON'T MIND READING SPOILERS!!!

And then it took you to the time line page. That way no one could complain.

Well, again, you can't just "get" to the timeline page. When reading through, it is hard to go to it without know that is what you are going to. My thought is people who don't want spoilers aren't going to be delving into the depths of the site for information.

I am kinda with doom on this. If you don't want spoilers, hit the issue details page, you can see characters, but have to click through to see reviews, comments, or synopsis. The blurbs are being made to not give anything away. Once you feel you are past spoiler point, or don't care, then start digging into the history of characters. I put this in the same vain as the "history" tab of the characters section, you wouldn't read that then say "hey, there were spoilers"

can we get a tally for the number of times this has happened?

actually, never mind, the correct number is: Everytime.

No, I wouldn't, but then again, I'm not the sort of person who gives two figs about spoilers. I'll happily read the last page of a book, and then read the book to find out how they got there. I'm not the sort to cry and moan because someone happened to mention that gandalf doesn't actually die in the lord of the rings even though he's plastered all over the trailers for the next film... (yes that's a real world example!)
