Commando is worth watching solely for the scene where he attacks the building over the gardens with a belt fed machine gun, yet he is utterly invulnerable despite standing out in the open, yet he is a crack shot firing one handed from the hip.

That much ridiculousness just somehow becomes awesome.

For all of you that missed Thor 1, don't panic. Pacing is definitely a problem. Almost fell asleep a few times. Thor 2 will have to be better or it may bomb at the box office.

Where did you feel it fell down? I've read a few things in the wake of the Avengers flick putting a bit of heat on the Thor movie. Interested to see specifically what people thought it was lacking, seeing as I thought it was damn near perfect.

I thought the first half was better than the second half. Thor vs. Frost Giants gave me comic book chills while Thor vs. Destroyer Armor left me feeling meh.
Thor calls down the thunder? Awesome.
Thor whips up a tornado? Not so great..

Xythe, the movie was too slow in too many places. The story line was old and dull with nothing new. I really don't think I'll bother with Thor 2 unless the reviews are exceptional.

Well, Doom is right about the frost Giant scene. And Hemsworth does a solid job as Thor, plus he was good in the avengers.

The movie does feel like they weren't sure what they were doing or where it was going.

I get that. I like when movies slow it down a bit and allow you to acquaint yourself with characters, but I've always been someone who doesn't care too much about what the plot is as much as how the people involved deal with that plot and each other.

I'm totally the opposite way around. All the stuff in Asgard made me think I'd made a bad decision in shelling out to see the movie at the cinema, the stuff on Earth redeemed it for me. I'm the same with the comics, just don't give the slightest crap what Thor and his buddies get up to in god land.

For me, almost all of the Thor stories I have enjoyed have been more focused on Asgard than Earth. I generally like a lot of the Asgardians, too. Like the Warriors three and Balder.

I thought the Thor movie was alright, but it didn't blow me away. I didn't really like Nathalie Portman in the movie at all. The action scenes were generally very satisfying, though.
