It's a British crime drama about a guy who is a magician's assistant that uses his knowledge of magic and illusionism to help solve seemingly impossible crimes. It's pretty cleverly done, and also quite funny in places. It's quite old now, though, started in the late nineties.

Also, he lives in a windmill. I seem to remember this being the main reason I started watching it.

Along those same lines, wasn't there once a show called the Highlander? If memory serves me correct, this one was a combination of mystery, magic and time travel. Anyone remember this one?
