I don't know if anyone is following this, but this lawyer who runs a website that puts up "funny" pictures from users and syndicates other sites "funny" stuff was sent a complaint by TheOatmeal for running a bunch of their art/posts without permission.
There was a back and forth where at one time the guy at the oatmeal made some suggestions about the lawyer's mom and intimate relationships with a bear, plus other funny stuff (mostly in response to a letter demanding 20k from the oatmeal for some form of abuse I am not clear on). The lawyer has since gone ballistic, sued theoatmeal.com, a kickstarter type site for charities (the guy from the oatmeal started a charity drive to raise the 20k for charities instead of giving it to the lawyer), The american cancer society, and the National Wildlife Fund. The lawyer is claming that, essentially, the internet was mean to him, and so is suing charities.
Its truly amazing stuff. Its like someone saw the ocean marketing debacle and went, you know, I can do better then that guy.
