Another two of the biggest problems for me were the density of the football in that later scene (why didn't it explode, instead of doing what it did)

It's a comic book movie, sometimes you just gotta let this stuff go. We're talking about a movie where a guy gets superpowers from being bitten by a spider. =P

Exploding football would have been cooler and made sense. He wasn't exactly on top of keeping hs identity secret though, so meh.

I know, I thought, "because physics make no sense".

It's just like most comic book movies... there are a lot of physics defying feats. Sort of like Mary Jane falling onto the cable car and not breaking her arms on the hard landing... and managing to hold on.

I disliked the most two things:
First: The apparent necessity to have a hero who saves at least an entire city, if not the country or the whole world. There is no such need, Spidey could simply save a family, or fight some underground crime organization, this would be fine!

Second: The scene intended to be epic, when the public acknowledges the hero, namely when the workers put the cranes aligned was not that convincing, hardly half epic as when spidey saves the train in Spider Man two.

I was arguing with my brother about who will be the big baddie on film 2, there aren't many grate villains left, but Kraven and Electro could give really good ones. What do you think?

You have to remember that this a reboot of the series which allows all the previous villains to be fair game.

I'm a little behind on this one, just seen it last night, and I have to say...eh, I'm not impressed. A totally needless reboot. I still prefer Raimi's version better. My biggest gripe is none of the actors really fit their role, with the exception of Gwen Stacy. Uncle Ben, Aunt May, Captain Stacy, even Peter himself didn't really look like who their supposed to portray, and none really captured their characters either. If felt more like "Hey, we have famous people that are shoehorned into parts that they don't belong in, but hey, they're famous!!!! Watch our movie." At least with Raimi Aunt May looked like Aunt May, etc. And Denis Leary as Captain Stacy is the biggest mismatch. The plot was sub-par, and the need to use a villain who hadn't been used yet is understandable, but the Lizard? The whole, good guy, corrupted into a bad guy had already been done and far better with Dr. Octopus in the second movie, and even everyone, with the exception of Aunt May, discovering his secret identity was also done better. I give this movie a C, and that's being generous.

Well isn't this thread a hatefest... this movie isn't that bad, and I actually quite enjoyed it.

It's not a great movie by any means, but it kicks the crap out of the Sam Raimi directed Spider-Man 3.

...that's kinda like saying someones funnier than Dane Cook, it doesn't really mean anything. I haven't seen the movie yet, the trailers made it look horribly bland and unnecessary, and I'm not a huge fan of Spider-Man anyway. I'll probably get it out of the Redbox once it comes out, but I wouldn't particularly care if I missed out.

I don't get the negative connotations towards the Raimi ones. Part 2 is amongst the best comic-book-adaptions ever in my book.

And if the studio didn't interfere so much with part 3 it might have turned out okay
