For comics in the late 60's, he might be my favorite artist. After years of the same old same old, every issue he does that I read I am just blown away by the art.

I haven't read much of his stuff, but the artwork that I've seen has always impressed me. He is what I think of when I think of 60s psychadelia. I just wish he had drawn a character that I liked better. Never been a huge Fury fan.

I didn't realize until just now that he did Cap. I thought he mainly did Fury.

He did a few issues of cap, and they were outstanding.

And the period he did fury I actually kinda liked.

I've never actually read Fury from that period, so hopefully when I finally get to them I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I'm a huge fan of Steranko. His covers were stunning. Unfortunately he was active for a very short period of time, but I feel like he did a huge amount for artistic design in terms of comics and their layouts. Around the time he is active, you can see a bunch of other artists trying to emulate his style to a degree, but nobody seems to be able to pull it off as well as he did (Except maybe Neal Adams).

This in particular is one of my favourite covers of all time (Apologies for size):

Yep I loved that cover. The story in that issue blew, but his art totally made up for it.

Have you seen the documentary Comic Book Super Heroes Unmasked? It's from 2003. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0373763/ I downloaded a torrent of it. It's got some good Steranko stuff in it. They talk a lot about how he changed comics.
