it was *just* good enough for my He-Man jacked up child-brain that I liked.. no.. loved it as a six year old.

I like that it is something I can still bond with my son over but some of the stuff with the change this/change that kind of messes with me. He is still pretty young so he doesn't understand everything that has changed, he is used to the "newer stuff" where his dad and I are more into the old school TF's.

Being only really familiar with the first cartoon run and some of the contemporary comics, I was staggered at the alternate universes they got into. Check out Shattered Glass below at TVtropes and transformers wikia.

Don't dis fragile rock, it's my one claim to fame, my uncle was the art director on that show...

I loved the transformers comic, was the only one I was allowed as a child, think my parents thought it was less violent because it was machines kicking the crap out of each other rather than people...

It has to be the only comic where the uk version was better than the American one. For those that don't know back in the 80s comics were released weekly in the uk but were shorter than American monthly releases (but not 1/4 the size) therefore after the uk caught up with the back log (started about a year behind if memory serves) they had to start writing there own back up comic strip, which people have said at times was actually a good deal better than the main strip (until the money started running out and it went black and white...)

Wasn't dising Fraggel Rock, was saying the Hollywood remake machine needs to stay away from it. ITs one of the few things I love from my childhood that Hollywood hasn't screwed with. Awesome that you uncle worked on the show. Does he have good stories from working with Henson?

Yea, the UK version of the comic was pretty good.

I know you weren't, sorry sarci British humour doesn't translate well into type.

And to be honest, not got a clue, never met the guy. Fraggles was produced in Canada where my uncle emigrated 5 years before I was born. Family has loads of props and models that he sent over to his parent (my grandparents) but alas, no Fraggles or anything of value.

Making me laugh that every time I type Fraggles the iPad wants to change it to fragged...

Oh. Screw Fraggle Rock! J/K. I don't like muppets very much apart from like Sesame Street (serious). Movies like Dark Crystal and Labyrinth freaked me out when I was little. Neverending Story too. I did like the Doozers.
