Issue Review
   November 23, 2015
The Hulk and Hawkeye continue their team-up which fails to thrill me much because the baddie is Attuma, who I donít like much.
But I did enjoy the fact that Hawkeye and Valkyrie got lots to do. The Hulk, sadly, wandered off.

Hulk's dialog in this one is worth a full extra star.

The issue was fairly unremarkable, but Hulk laughing at two puny humans pounding on each other made it all worth it.

Love how they are tying everything together now. It wasn't too long ago marvel had that one issue story which was horrendous. Now, they've created and established an intertwining universe which is awesome.

Hawkeye's name is now officially "Stupid Stick-Man"...just to perfect.
Not sure I buy Hulk's "legendary" hatred of water, considering he swam half the Atlantic in his last solo issue.
So many deaths in this issue, and it doesn't seem to bother anybody. We can start with the poor girl drowning at the start of the invasion, and end with all of the sea-people that Hawkeye and Val kill via suffocation. (And why would you create a prison where the guards have to wear the life-saving devices instead of the prisoners?)

The Red Ghost is probably my favorite silver age D-lister.

  - Do you think this cover is supposed to recall the first Justice League cover vs. Starro?

- The Sub-Mariner finds out how infuriating crabs are and, like in real life, everyone has their own opinion on the best way to deal with them

- Unnatural Crustaceans is the name of my fictitious jangle-pop band

- I couldn't stop thinking of the girl killed by the giant squid, such a random, unmourned death doesn't seem to fit the times

- Now Playing "A Person Isn't Safe Anywhere These Days" The Chameleons

  Russ Says:

In this issue: Attuma gives Namor and the Defenders a case of the crabs. You'd think Hawkeye would think to bring better protection for everybody....

Man, the Hulk nearly busting his gut laughing at Val and Hawkeye? Must be the first time he's done that. Extra star alone for that!

Having a hard time thinking that a couple of lesser villains could give the Defenders fits, even with Dr. Strange absent from the proceedings. And the Red Ghost that adept at animal training, especially sea creatures? Quite a stretch there. But if this is setting up Defenders vs. Avengers, I'll stick around and see where it goes.

3 stars. Gotta give Hawkeye a little credit here; at least he manned up and admitted being shut down by the Scarlet Witch.

  Katryn Says:

Hawkeye works better here than with the Avengers, at least so far. Although attacking the Hulk when he's leaving you alone is not a smart move.

Barely 3 stars for Al Tuna and the Porpoise Whisperer!!!

Credit Due - You can tell Sal didn't really care to draw an undersea world!!

Whipping Boy - Would've been 5 stars if there was a line of heroes waiting to bitch slap Hawkeye!!!

That Special Moment - Just silly that Attuma knows of a weakness of Namor, and never used it in their previous 100 battles...

Attumaville - You'd think that Attuma would give up on Atlantis now that he has his own damn city!!!

Badge Of Shame - I guess the Unicorn (IM #16) got his revenge on the Red Ghost by making him still wear that crappy costume!!!

'Nuff Said - "Were it not for your perfidious porpoises, Attuma, we'd--!"-Sore Loser Namor

  ClownShoes Says:

I liked Hawkeye's Playboy reference, picturing Attuma's guards as centerfolds... *shudder*

  Marksman Says:

Attuma attacking Atlantic City? Perhaps a lackey brought him the wrong map to Atlantic City instead of Atlantis and he just went with it.
