Issue Review
   August 12, 2013
Two strong lead characters and a very interesting, action-packed story. Top notch.

There's a great dynamic between Dr. Doom and Namor. So, even though the middle section is very talky, it still completely works. Very enjoyable. 9/10

The sailors act like the Sub-Mariner is unheard of. One says "I always thought he was just a legend".

This is the same guy who invaded New York like 5 times by this point. Have these sailors in a cave?

This issue done learned me sumpin. I had no idea the Suez Canal was closed from '67-'75.

Seems ridiculous that Doom wouldn't spot any of those obvious clues that his army is becoming sentient, especially when it took Namor all of 5 minutes to get that something was up.

Decent story marred by Sekowsky's artwork.

I thought Doom courted Namor last time, and that Namor spurned Doom.

I remember now. The last time was a blur because it sucked.

Lame. Not looking forward to this run of SVTU.

This could have been better if it had been drawn out a bit, having the androids worshiping their god in secret.

I swear if it wasn't for Namor wearing his new costume I would assume this was a golden age comic that they just added some current dialog with.
I really wish they would decide whether Namor is good or evil and just stick with it for a while, instead of just changing it based on that month's story needs.

I think Doom knew that the androids were becoming sentient, he just doesn't care. I assume Doom's creations probably turn sentient and rebel all the time. It's just Standard Operating Procedure for Doom.

A DOOM-Namor team-up? Intriguing on paper, but not the best set-up here. I always tend to forget how much ranting Namor does, and that simply pulled the story down some. Looks as though Super-Villain Team-Up may be a more arduous read than first thought.

2 stars. Anyone notice that angry expression on that one android? The one designated 616? I found that oddly amusing.

What a let down! In reality a two star story but disappointment and Sekowsky’s art drag squarely into one star territory. Marvel knew this was a cool idea, they knew they could phone it in and people would buy it, and they did. What a waste.

Andro was setup to be an interesting character, but never comes back unfortunately
