Wow, I really liked the ending for this one. Very atypical for this era.

JJJ certainly had that coming, and now he has another gripe against Spidey.

Extra star awarded for JJJ dropping a Kingpin-sized dump in his pants after Spidey threatened him.

4 stars for Spidey sending a personal grievance to the Editor!!!

Corrections - @jfpj1991: The powers that be, must of heard your complaint from last issue...TA-DA...bullet holes!!!

Pokeahotness - How about Gwen rocking the Indian Princess look!!!

Newsflash - Anybody else amused by the Daily Bugle radio patrol car!?

Mystery Guest - I guess they're going to keep Vanessa in the shadows like they first did with Mary Jane!?

'Nuff Said - "Nobody's ever gonna bother to look in the private closet of Peter Parker, Boy Sophomore!"-Peter Parker, Boy Sophomore

I love that Kingpin's footsteps get their own sound effects.

I thought it was pretty cool that Spidey has buttons to push, and JJJ was a bit out of line in interfering with the Kingpin's escape. Aiding and abetting, anyone?

So Spidey's stuck with the tablet. That should make interesting to see how Peter will explain having one of the hottest pieces of merchandise in New York. If only you knew about Peter, Gwen.

4 stars. Quite an ending for this arc.

Last issue's ending seemed like a too-quick, unearned turnabout. THIS issue's ending was perfect! Very nicely built up, not just with the dramatic events of this issue, but the long-standing grudge between Spidey and JJJ. Really well done.

I will admit, this is all new territory for me. There's an entire chunk of Spidey history I haven't read, so aside from knowing the major beats (i.e. Gwen's fate, for example), I was surprised to learn that Kingpin has a wife. I didn't realize that the "Vanessa" introduced in Netflix's Daredevil was from the comics!

I also like that the Kingpin is drawn with some restraint in terms of his size. Yeah, he's a big guy, but he's still small enough to actually get in the sedan at the end of the issue. My trusty old "How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way" shows how Kingpin is supposed to be only about 5 heads high (although he does have a huge head), while a typical male is about 6 to 6.5 heads high.

I did find it weird that he got caught red-handed by the police and was in jail. I always thought that his shtick was that he was "untouchable", or at least silently pulling the strings behind the scenes, appearing even respectable to the public. Oh well, like I said... there's a huge chunk of Spidey history I haven't read!

That issue was kind of up and down.

I'm tired of the Spidey 'Crisis of Character'. It's been done like 3 times already.

King Pin's escape seemed pointless, and unnecessary, but that may be me applying the modern Kingpin, whose lawyers would have had him out in no time, to this nascent version.

The Jameson arrival at the end was super contrived, as he's never been know to go out that way.

On the other hand:

I like the Spider-Man/Peter dichotomy getting in the way with Gwen.

I sort of liked the resolution to the protest, and I didn't mind that it was a stand in for more serious protests of the day

I loved Spidey's rampage accross Kingpin's men

And, honestly, I liked the exchange between Spidey and JJJ, and the result - I just wish the set up for it had been better...

Not just Spidey History, Kingpin History as well it seems. I am with your there all the way. I am eager to see how the Kingpin will develop from this relatively active villain to a ..."pulling-the-strings"-type as well as his transition from a Spidey arch-villain to THE Daredevil archfiend.

For me this was also an up and down this Issue, therefore only 3*. Did not enjoy this one like previous Issues although I really like the Kingpin. Nice to see a mysterious woman appear in conjunction with another mention of Kingpin's wife.

NO PLEASE, WILSON NO.....I just wrote a comment on CMRO....NO ONE KNOWS YOUR WIFE THERE!!!! NO PLS....don't slam my head on thehaspkfdölgfjmaÄÖLmfjäHFE'AEKF
